CHAPTER 6   MEMORIALS RECORDED BY J HARVEY BLOOM IN 1914

The stone crosses about 1914.   They were moved inside the Church in 1916

AN INDEX TO THESE INSCRIPTIONS IS AVAILABLE IN APPENDIX 5

Reference was made earlier in this work to the difficulty of recording some of the inscriptions on the memorial stones at Llanbadarn and to the practice of clearing away some of the memorials of previous generations. Fortunately some of the memorial inscriptions of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century were transcribed by the Rev. J. Harvey Bloom sometime about the end of the Nineteenth century. The Bloom survey was presented to the National Library of Wales in August 1914 and its reference number is NLW MSS 902A. Bloom was from Whitchurch Rectory, Stratford – on Avon.   Many of the memorials recorded by Bloom were also recorded in our survey but a substantial number were not and these are presented here in the order recorded by the Rev. Bloom. The numbers of the same memorial in our survey have been inserted where the surveys coincide.
